Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Hey all,
I don't want to bore you with the back story, but I am doing a time lapse video. I am taking a picture of the same thing everyday for about 110 days straight. I want to see the change of the season. But the thing is that I can't put it on a tripod (I can't leave it there; it will be in the way), so I am going to the spot and taking about 15-20 pictures (BTW, I have kept the settings all the same, Av, ISO 100, f/22, focal length of 35mm). But the question I have, is when I have the 100+ pictures, how can I get them all cropped to the same size, so the target (the building) in the picture will be all in the same spot? So when I put all the pictures together, the building doesn't jump around by a few millimetres.
Does that make sense?
I have Lightroom and Photoshop
Help would be greatly appreciated

Why f/22?

Hopefully, the light will be the same each time you make photos. F/22 will likely softened the focus of all the shots because of diffraction.

Be sure you stand in the same place for each session and keep the camera level..

Which release of Lightroom, and Photoshop do you have? (Lightroom 1, 2, 3, 4 - Photoshop CS 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - Photoshop Elements 8, 9, 10, 11)

Its a landscape shot

The shutter speeds for the pictures so far are: 1/30, 1/20, 1/30, 1/25, 1/25, 1/30, (And I'm not sure what todays is, I haven't uploaded the pictures to my computer yet)

I have Lightroom 4.4 and Photoshop CS6. I have made sure I stood in the same spot and tried lining up certain objects in the frame the best I can, but I will have to edit them so they will all line up. That is what I am wondering about. I don't remember where I read it this afternoon, but there is a couple programs (LightroomTimeLapse and Photoshop effects.....I think), that have to deal with Time Lapse. I am wondering if those would be good?

They way he explains it about stacking them in one file on photoshop, is exactly what I was wanting. Thanks for that website CheryIL. If I remember to, when this time lapse is all done (middle of september), I will post the video in here and you guys can see it.
I did what that website said with the 6 pictures that I already have to see how it worked. And I am even more positive that it will turn out awesome at the end of the season.

Love to see what you come up with. Good luck with the project. You may like this video of the changing of seasons. This is what he said "I paid very close attention to the surrounding landmarks and saved my location in Google maps. I also shot the images in a high resolution, which gave me some wiggle room."

Just because its a landscape shot doesn't mean it needs to be on f/22.

KmH posted about diffraction. F/8 to f/13 should suffice.

I have about 50-55 pictures now. About half way through. I am trying to get it 'started' to see how it will turn out. But I am having trouble with the dissolves in Final Cut Express, and in Adobe Premiere Pro (trying it out in trial mode), I emailed that Erik (the timelapse video tutorial guy http://eirikso.com/2008/12/27/one-ye...mazing-videos/) and he replied once, then I had a couple more questions, then he never responded back. I can't get the dissolves to work. Can someone here help me with it, or send me to a place (another forum) that can help?
Thanks

What NLE are you putting this together in? Looking at his webpage it appears that each still is 5 seconds. His dissolves overlap. I can't see exactly how many frames he used, but say that when photo 1 is at 50% opacity then you want photo 2 to be at 50 % opacity in the overlap. Once the frames for the dissolves are decided upon then you line up your 50% opacity on the photos and then for instance photo 1 will be at 70% and photo 2 will be at 30%. All equaling 100% at all times no matter which frame you have your CTI.

Sorry, I'm really, really new at video editing, but what does NLE and CTI mean?

I can't get them to overlap properly, they will become 'unrendered' (this is all in Final Cut Express)

Was this in DC?

I haven't tried to do any timelaspe in awhile man I need to start again.

I haven't attempted any more at this since I asked 3 months ago. But I thought I was gonna be done taking pictures around Sept 4. But I was asked to stay up at the lodge longer, I am still taking pictures (just checked I currently have 148 pics....1 a day), And I will be still taking pictures for about another 5-6 days. I am on the home stretch. Just about done. I have been at the lake since May 14, working everyday (I had 2 days off in that time) How come there is no emoticon for sleep? lol Anyways, when I get home from the lake in a weeks time, I will FINALLY get to start working on it. Hoping to have it all the way done and able to upload to youtube by Nov 1. When it is done, I will post it here so you can see it.
