Time to invest in new camera

Hi guys.

I used to own a canon 400d but last month my dad some how manage to snap one of the pins off. So i have decide to invest in a new model rather than getting it fixed. I have around £1000. Someone said go for a secondhand 5d MKII but im not sure. Any advice would be great but it will have to be a canon as i have 4 lenses for that make.

Hi Gavin - if you really want to step up to full frame, and you're willing to spend £190 more, you can buy a new Canon 6D with the full 3 year Canon warranty shipped from the UK for £1189.99. If not, the Canon 5D Mark II is still a fabulous camera. You can find one used on Amazon starting at £780.

You may have a challenge with vignetting if you mount the Canon EF-S lenses from your 400D on a full frame camera, however. If you go full-frame, you may want to sell your lenses and get a used 5D Mark II with the 24-105 lens for £990.

If you really want to keep your lenses, you will have to buy a crop sensor APS-C camera, such as the £1000 Canon 7D or the £600 Canon 60D.
