Continuous mode is different than an internal timer.... You have to worry about your internal buffer and wether or not it can handle continuous exposures like that fro 40 minutes.

Good luck though, and please post your results. I'm just a rank beginner when it comes to time lapse, so its good to learn from the experimentation of others.
