I like the composition but in this instance I think the image would be better served if the DoF was much deeper.

Glad you like the composition... I'm not sure if a deeper DOF would have been better or not, but I wish I had taken another shot to compare...

I think everything is fine with respect to DOF and Comp.
The blown highlights on the branch bother me most of all.

Nicely seen.
