Tips on Photo Critique

So I've been checkingout this site, photosig.com. But I dont think its all that good. So imwondering what sites you guys use for giving and receiving photo-critiques.

Those of you whoanswered that that you use regular forums - why do you prefer that to specialsites?

Those of you who usespecial sites - what features do you like there and what features do you miss?

Lemme get this straight -- you've created an account on a photography forum and posted in the beginner critique section on what sites people go to to get their work critiqued?

And any site which is active and has knowledgeable members is good enough for me.

And this is a stupid question, that screams of spam to me.

I will not be visiting photosig.com, because I'm not falling for the banana in the tailpipe.

Photosig is a good and authentic site but their layout isn't conducive to any discussion.
They do get huge numbers of pictures posted.

I've said this a few times, but I think it would be cool if this site had a contest/judge/crit formal site. I've been on sites in the past that had some cool PPA, WPPI judges, with a few random but successful contest folks on board, and it was always kind of fun, and a great learning experience.

I loved hearing the differing crits, and they got REALLY technical, which helped too. Even when I didn't enter, I loved hearing from the pros who judge photos every year. Lots of great insight.

I was on a site when I first started with a "brutally honest" critique forum....... Man was that enlightening.

And helpful.

And made me drink.

Heavily.

And cry a little.
