Heavily Medicated For Your Protection
Got tired of lurking so I figured I might as well say Hi. Who am I? I'm Michael, nice to meet you......... Once made my living from photography but the fast paced insanity of the commercial world did nothing but make me grouchy and forget why I ever picked up a camera.
So years later I get the bug to create something and break out what I have left of my gear and shoot a few rolls of B&W that have been hiding in the bottom of my camera bag for the last 7 years. Some funny shadows and not too consistent contrast with those but I had fun so I ordered some more less aged film. Should be here in a few days.
Right off the bat though I see I'm going to need to invest in a film scanner if I'm going to be posting pics. I found some old slides I'd shot back in 96' and scanned em' on mom's HP flatbed that has the slide/neg carrier. No matter what I did I lost way too much of something in each pic. Regained some of the original color and sharpness in Photoshop Elements with some but that scanner just doesn't do too well with that small of a medium to work with I guess as it scanned larger 5X7 and 8X10 with tons more quality. But I'll ask about scanners where I need to, post a pic or two to get started, and not lurk anymore........................
