To anyone with experience with B&H exchange policy...

So here is my situation.

Two weeks ago I purchased a 50 mm 1.8 from B & H online. I got it in the mail shortly after, snapped some shots, etc. I then set my camera down on a shelf roughly 2' high, then proceeded to knock it onto the ground. It hit the ground lens first, derailing the threading of the focus ring. I could not remove the nifty fifty from the body and panicked I cooled off and set it down, checking online for solutions looking for camera repair shops etc.. Realizing I'm 70 miles from the nearest camera repair shop I proceeded to forcibly remove the lens from the body (I need my camera this weekend for a shoot at a BMX park but i do have 18-55). I'm lucky that it was only the 1.8 because its definitely replaceable!!

• I want to exchange the lens for new one.
• How can I go about the exchange with B & H?

call B&H and explain EXACTLY what happened, and that you want them to replace the lens for you.
after they are finished laughing at you, they can help you find the right page online where you can order a new 50mm from them.

Your best bet is to give Nikon a call and ask them how much it would cost to have it repaired. There's a good chance it will cost more to fix it than just buy a new one, but perhaps you can get a refurbished one for a little less.
