To Crop or Not?

I shot these shots at the Midway at our State Fair, and am looking at entering one in one of the competitions at the camera club I'm in. I'm still getting used to cropping and things like that, but I wanted your thoughts on these two shots as to which one you liked a little better (if either one - don't be bashful).

I like them both, kinda.

For me, if I see somewhat of a face I either want to see it lit up or not at all (silhouette).

I think these have potential though.

Yep, this was in there I think; this is the adjusted image. I also have the sunset over the fair one I might submit too. Photoshop Elements is quite fun...Layers is the only thing I can't seem to figure out yet, but in time.
