I like #1 as an image, especially because the billboard with the headshot almost completly disappeared in the clouds. But the title of #2 would have been "To Live and Die and Have Brunch in L.A., and that is so much better.

Agreed, it doesn't exactly signify a bright, cheery place to dine and would I be getting the hemlock tea special? I kid of course but still, it wouldn't be on my sign if it were my place of business.

I'd crop the right of no.2 at the right side of the building. That would cut off the edge of the billboard and enhance the illusion.
