I've had the subject Tokina lens for about ten years, and use it quite a bit on my Nikon D200, F5, and N90s. Yesterday, when I took it out of the case, I noticed that the focus ring cover had split, and separated.
In my searches for repair, the Tokina folks don't have a stellar reputation for turn around time and communications. Therefore...
I started searching for solutions for my own repair. I've looked for some type of rubberized tape, so I can replace the ring, and also started looking for some type of thin, durable double-face tape to re-attach the original ring, albeit now split.
Any ideas? Thanks very much.
