I just picked up a used one (A-mount) ... not the newer II version ... Tokina | Digital Eyes - Visionary technology makes a difference you can see
I used to have the Tamron 10-24mm Di II and it was a disappointment in terms of apparent visual sharpness, the images look soft no matter what aperture was used (though I could have had a bad copy).
I did some quick shots with the Tokina at 11mm wide open and it is sharp (corners will be soft as expected with any UWA).
