my mum's laptop is a toshiba and she's been having it for 2 yrs now, and it works fine...

This guy at work called the VP of toshiba and bitched him out. Apparently he's taken care of.

Also the Better Business Bureau has many complaints from Toshiba customers.

If they don't help you, threaten to make another one. They'll sort you out i'm sure.

no local tech will touch this thing...i've called 7 and they all say the motherboard will have to be replaced...no one will even look at it.....geez!

they all offered to remove the hard-drive for me

Jon, seriously call Toshiba support and they'll set it up for you to drop it off at a UPS store, ship it to the right folks, fix it, and you'll get it back in a week or so It'll be worth it I promise Just make sure your fancy pics are all backed up!
