I noticed a caterpillar & some type of beetle on our Dill & tried to get shots of them. However, the wind was moving the subjects centimeters & the focus required was a couple millimeters. Here are three surviving pics out of 23 & still not good ones. :(

Ron. This is a PG-13 forum I believe. But nice shots!

I am always amazed by good macro shots. The details in what a macro lens has the ability to catch is awesome! #1 is def. the best looking out of these to me. #3 just looks to be a bit out of focus to me...which it seems that you already know.

:lmao::lmao: ...it is a good thing the bugs have their shells on.

Don't you just hate it when there is a good subject and mother nature does not cooperate...

I guess the question HAS to be asked. What one of the 10,000 lenses did you use? Tubes? Cropped? First one is my favorite out of the bunch. If it had been sharper, it would have been really nice. I like the colors on that caterpillar.

I actually used those caterpillars in my classroom as a science project, watched them turn to butterflies. It was really cool, the butterflies actually have orange/red and blue on them. Good pics by the way, my p&s did not do a good job on the caterpillars or the butterflies.

Laf Mark.

I used the Minolta Celtic 50mm macro plus Vivitar 2x tele-converter & yes all are cropped a bit.
