Though honestly I'm suspecting it might be something to do with the sites ownership under the admin (every site gets its facebook or something). Leastways I don't recall us starting a facebook for TPF and if we did well - it doesn't look like we got very far with it

Had a chat - seems we did set it up years ago (you guys are slow ) but simply never really developed it into anything. It was likely around the time that social media sites were growing and "having one" was the new in thing to do. We've just never really felt a pressing need to develop it.

So by all means go ahead and use it - I'm not sure if we've the admin login details for it so it might not see any official updates, but it might be a neat focus for TPF members. If, however, you feel that there is a strong case for us developing it further then please say so and we'll see if anyone on the mod team knows their way around Facebook (I certainly don't - every time I go back there I lose where they put everything)

Hmmm...I don't know. The Photo Forum page on FB that I'm seeing says they "joined Facebook August 3, 2012." And there are four posts from August 3 through August 10, like someone got it rolling and was posting regularly. Then it jumps to Nov. 24 before there's another post--Coastalconn's Osprey pic. So, it certainly doesn't have the appearance of having been set up years ago but just not developed.

Nothing after that until this past Monday when Pixel's photo suddenly showed up on it. There are NO comments or posts from anyone else, just those six posts from The Photo Forum. It's just odd.

I just don't really see the point of having a Photo Forum FB page, personally. Anything I'd see there I've likely already seen here. Anything I'd post there, I'd definitely want to post here. And I wouldn't be likely to comment much on things I see there; I'd just come HERE and make the comment. There's already enough redundancy in MY life without adding an "extra" TPF into the mix.

Thanks Overread for checking it out, I think I'm with Sharon on the redundancy of it but I'm kinda glad it wasn't oh hey tyler, that was just wayyy too hard to process lol

Why the heck would I want to go to TPF on Facebook when I can come here? Just seems like TPF would be repeating itself in another location and I already spend my photo computer time here. Not only that but how would the administrators of TPF get $ from contributing members and sponsors there?



Can we just go back to sending smoke signals?
