Hi. I am guessing here, that you are very, very new to digital photography. Or maybe to a photography at all ? This picture has many technical issues and also compositional problems. So, how new are you in this venue ?

I'm rather new to photography, and I just joined this site a couple of days ago.

Will you enlighten me about the technical issues and compositional problems? I'll be glad to learn about them.

Hi. Your picture is way over exposed, most highlights lost any texture and detail, what is there is hardly recognizable. However detail in the forest is good. Or you cranked the contrast too much, or your light meter is over exposing or camera is set to give an extra exposure (so called "compensation"). From the merit point of view your subject is really far away and very small and is hard to see if it is a tractor, dump truck or digger and they are spread all over the scene without any sort of compositional order, so there is a lack of harmony at least of one, solid point of interest. There is also a question about the darkening of the edges, should it be a sort of vignette ?

Your exif shows: iso 400, f10, 1/125....a recipe for disaster in sunny conditions because there's too much light getting through for too long onto a chip that's set too high. For iso 400 here, f16 and 1/500 would have been better and resulted in a more even exposure with retention of detail.

All of this ^^^ The title indicates that I should be looking for a tractor but the angle is so wide and the shot so overexposed that I actually can't make out any tractors. Granted, part of this might be my denial that I now need glasses for this sort of thing but even with glasses, it's hard to make out any sort of detail in the bright parts of the picture.
