Training my Eye. C&C Please.

Like the flower boxes shot, although my eyes are trying to see further down the walkway, a change of angle maybe?

None of those do anything for me whatsoever but, since you said you are training your eye, may I say that the first one could have been wonderfully abstract had you chosen to get rid of the crap part of it.

Crop out the "menu" leaving just the ceiling and you could have a winner.

Love it!

When I first opened the thread and saw the top of this image I thought it was wonderful. Then I scrolled down and there was the rest of it :( and it left me totally cold and uncaring, lol.

Now, crop some on the left to make it a more normal size. It will also get rid of some of darker, unnecessary black area in the bottom left.

Now #2, that is just my opinion and vision. What matters is yours. How do you feel about this new image?

Now #3 through ... coming up later depending on your response to this present post. :)

What training resources are you referring to for guidance, beyond posting photos for C&C which is about the slowest way to learn.

My god, Keith, does everything have to be fast? Ever heard of the "slow food" movement? Everybody says, I WILL SLOW DOWN!

I must be an odd duck. My training resource has been posting photos for C&C here at TPF. I've had the 1000d for almost one year and I feel, because of posting photos for C&C, I have become much better and one year seems pretty quick. I do understand your logic however. Going to ONE place asking for C&C will not a photog make. Receiving C&C, practicing, then asking for more and reading multiple sources of educational information is really helpful. But its TPF member critiques and comments that kept me actuating the shutter.

So here is a tighter crop Cloudwalker. I do like it and the dimension is definitely better. Again thanks for the help. I tend to have too much going on in my images. Keith I have been reading Bryan Peterson's book and all the magazines I can get a hold of. There are a couple of sites on line that I've been studying as well. I'm going to throw in another more abstract image for your comments. I'm also on TPF all the time now and learning a bunch here. Thanks all.

Mostly just a trial shot to learn a technique.
