Hello everyone.

Name's Adam. I currently live in California and have been into photography for a while. I've recently just took the next step and bought my first DSLR, upgrading from my Canon S2 IS.

I just bought the following setup for $500.. What do ya think?

Canon EOS Rebel XT
- Canon BG-E3 Vertical Battery Grip
- Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC MACRO
- (4) Canon lithium-ion batteries + charger
- Quantaray skylight filter / lens hood
- Tamrac Digital backpack

So far I'm loving the camera although I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. One of my main difficulties is knowing exactly what aperture/WB setting to use according to the environment. It'll definitely take time and experience.

Looking forward to posting on TPF and using the forums as a learning experience. Thanks!
