Trends in Senior Photos ?

Are there any trends in Senior Photos this year ?
or specific type of shots one always takes?

I've been asked to take some for ppl and other stuff. But .. one of those things where technically I think I would be okay but artistically not so. And since I had to pick up a new FX camera, a little kickback wouldn't be a bad thing.

Not into this too much but the trends seem to be that it's changed from everyone doing the same to a free for all. Each senior gets to put something of their self in the photo. A hobby item or a personal touch. Keeping the poses under control and PG rated may be the hardest part..................

The typical senior request is - " I want photos that show I am unique, and I want them to look just like the photos you made for my friends Rachel, Elisabeth, Roxy, and Dalara last year."

You gotta balance creativity and getting as many shot in as little time.

I always do my Senior Portrait shots with two (2) styles:

1) Formal - Unique setting to the area, school colors, or something that will remind them of their last year in high school while still applying the typical "rules" for portraits.

2) Something unique to them! Do they play a sport, special activities, etc. Something that will bring them back to their passions in high school when they look at these photos 20+ years from now.
