I tried working on getting the right amount of water blur. Some times the shutter was open way too long and there was no detail in the flow of the water, and others was too little. I think about 1/2 second seems to work well. Let me know your thoughts.

I find it all depends on how fast the flow is... faster flow, I like it around 1/6s or 1/4s... slower flow, normally have it at 1 sec or 1/2 sec... shoot and check on the spot...
 
I think it looks like you achieved what you were going for! It looks like you found a great balance between the two.
 
I think you did very well with getting the flow right.
 
Thanks guys. I went into it thinking it needed to be several seconds. I think I started at 10 seconds. That, of course, was way too long.
 
I think you nailed the water flow. However I feel the scene just isn't complete and is lacking composition. It just feels like you walked over and put down your tripod.

Maybe a little more focus on just the water?
