Well I picked up a $1 Tulip at a local grocery store a few days ago to mess around with and enjoy as it slowly opened up to the morning sunlight. Sick and stuck in for the evening, I decided to expand the bloom's horizons a bit.

Here were the results, #1 is by far my favorite of the two. IMO it forces the viewer to look for a moment at why it's called "Tulip". Then once you pick up on the stem, the flames really keep the shape, even up to their own soft "blossom" at the top.

#2 is exactly what I set out for conceptually from the start. So I'm content with it in that way.

I'd love to hear your feedback :)

Very nice - very creative - it took me a few seconds to figure out the first one, but I did finally work it out. It is almost a bit of an abstract.

Thanks you WesternGuy! I was going for an abstract theme, but in all honesty, was a little concerned about using that word for fear of others thinking it wasn't "abstract" enough. Shows me I shouldn't concern myself with small thoughts like that.

So glad you like it!

Anyone else have CC? These types of images are far and few between for me, compared to macro and landscapes...
