I'd received a new zoom lens in the mail that I'd bought to complement my back-up Pentax K-7, seeing as the modern 55-300 WR PLM that I carry on my K-70 is not not compatible with it; and the third party lens I was using not being particularly satisfactory. The Pentax SMC DAL 55-300 ED is compatible with the older KAF mounts. Took it down to Penn State University's Lake Perez for some test shooting and came across these Painted Turtles who agreed(briefly) to pose for some shots. I think the combo will do.

They don't look too bad at all, particularly the sharpness in the first.

They look good but your reds are too high. Seems like a good lens, you should keep it.
