Cool! Kinda reminds me of a bunch of civil war ironclads. :encouragement:

Good grief, there's heaps of them.
Did you know a group of turtles is called a turn, dole, nest or bale.
Got that off the big 'G' in the sky . . . . . . . . Google

Interesting shots, I know nothing about turtles, what kind are these, general size?

Thanks, everyone. I like "heap" best, lol! As far as their species the ones in the "heap" are Eastern Chicken Turtles and the single feller is unknown for lack of identifying marks which also means it could very well be an Eastern Mud Turtle. I'm fairly sure it is one. None of them were more than about 2 or 3 lbs.

i had a snapper turtle for many years... love turtles and great photos of them..

Off doing turtle things.

I like it.

I'm glad my turtles are enjoying their Florida vacation during the winter months - tell them they can come home now, its almost spring! :biglaugh: Great set Kirk - we are itching for the return for what you have all year long.

They're sipping on pina coladas ... I think they may be awhile longer. :cool-48:

Thank you, both. Cool, not many people have their own snapping turtle, interesting. Did you feed it worms, grubs and bugs?
yes but mostly loved turtle food.. and veggies... i rescued him when it was almost frozen .. tiny little thing and grew about 12 inches across.. i got a pool for him ..set it up in the backyard .. he managed to get out and walked away..hopefully to the pond and swamp area across the street.. i really wanted him to go back into the wild but i was afraid he might not be able to fend for himself.. so he left me no choice ..

Reptiles typically are not raised by their parents, they pop out of their shells and are ready to take on the world on their own. I'm sure yours did just fine after the escape even though you raised and fed it.
