Rhossili Beach has been named one of the top 10 beaches in the world. It is popular with surfers, and there is also a causeway across to Worm's Head that can be crossed at low tide. Having one of the widest tidal ranges in the world, though, you have to rime it right.

The Helvetia was wrecked in the 19th Century, and makes a striking subject. I checked the forecast, the tides and the sunset time and headed down as it looked like I might get all into line...the wreck was completely submerged only 30 minutes before this was taken.

Wow, completely submerged? That tide really recedes quickly! Awesome subject.

It comes in just as quick.

It looks higher than it is as using ultra wide and shooting from below. But yes when I arrived at the headland above it, it was completely under water.

Really nice. Love the cool blue tones that blend to the yellow sunset.

Nice pic! Good time to collect some fresh mussels.

There were plenty of empty razor clam shells, plus the ordinary clams...

Hmm, for full frame @ 12mm that lens performs very well ... it is well corrected for an ultrawide

It's also pretty lightweight.

It's like a dragon awakening from the sands of time. Quite fitting with Worms Head in the background. Da iawn!
