I like the second image, how it fades to the backround.
 
good backgrounds, they don't distract from the subject
good composition

I just wish I had a little more going on in the first one. I would like to see it with some side lighting. it's bright but a bit flat in the flower so I lose some sense of the texture
 
While I like #1, too, for its focus and wonderfully blurred background (and the background colour, of course!!!), I like #2 even more because I have always liked to see this grass/plant that I am now learning is called "plantain". Never knew that (and I don't know what it is in German, either!). While on Gotland, I had always wanted to take at least one photo of "plantain" (thanks for the word, Ron!), but I think that among thousands of photos there isn't ONE of this specific kind of grass...
