Two Men, Two Buckets, Two Nets and the Patience of Job

Living in a coastal area, scenes like this are everyday common. It amazes me that people can sit like this (or stand nearly motionless) until a school of fish swim close enough for a cast. I watched for nearly thirty minutes hoping I could get a double cast shot but alas, they just sat and watched.

I was just discussing this concept of "patience" with someone the other day. I consider myself a pretty IMpatient person, in many things. I'm pretty big on instant gratification.
I've been known to eat a bag of potato chips for dinner because they are sitting there, ready to eat and the refrigerator/pantry full of other stuff would require a minimum of two or three minutes worth of effort.

But then I found bird photography. And I can sit for HOURS in one spot, waiting for the birds I'm watching to finally come close enough for that great shot, or waiting for them to do something cool, like catch a fish.

It's all in what really interests us, I suppose. I'd hold that net for about 3 minutes before I decided it was lunchtime.
Actually, I'd hold that net until I saw a cool bird, then I'd drop it and go off hunting bird photos.
