1.B&W , thats my pick.
( I never go color unless there's really lots of vibrant colors in the scene ).

2.Just being nit picky, right around the center ( above the clouds ) there's a noticeable flare, easily removed using photoshop patch tool.

3.As for the other flare spots, its going to difficult to remove.

B&W for me too...though I would give your try at cloning the horizon out or cropping it out. There's just not enough of it for interest and all it does is distract from the sun/sky...which is the real focus of the image.

I like the effect the sun gives to the image. I would suggest brightening your mid-tones to make the white of your clouds whiter, as I feel they look a bit too under-exposed.

Also the color image appears to have a strong blue cast, a quick colour balance adjustment would fix that easily. I agree with the suggested crop, however I feel the image would be stronger if you had found a spot with trees all the way along the horizon, to anchor the image and make the sky seem larger.
