but not quite a swan...

Been watching and trying to capture the local swan family all summer with little success. Every time I go down there they are either sticking their heads in the water the entire time or on the far side of the pond out of range for my 70-300. These are still not what I imagine they could be but better this time than the last. The ones of the parent white swans were too blown out to be any good... I'm going to try again late afternoon next time as the morning sun is right in my lens this time of year.

I think the second one is quite beautiful. You captured the variety of feather shades and shaping, as well as a perfect swan pose.

#1 is my favorite. Beautiful capture!!!

I like 3 best. It looks like the swan has one of the leaves that are in the foreground in it's beak. Not sure if it really does, but it gives that impression. The foreground limbs offer a frame and a scale to the image that I also like. I feel like I am crouching unseen in the woods on the bank being a silent witness to this scene.
