Ultimate Organization Tool?

I totally use a program I got with my first Dell Computer, and like anything made by Dell, it works well, needs very few improvements, and still works 9 years later.

My current P drive is around 560 gigs (Just for 2007-2008) full of pictures. It is also a TB drive, it is almost time to pop it into my file server and get a new TB drive to replace it.

Works with Vista as well,

I don't, and I know I will have to start taggging soon (+60,000 image files.)

Not that I am fomd of the solution (I actually hate it with a passion), but Vista has that functionality built-in to it's file system (the ability to modify metadata of pics and add tag words and sort/search using this info).

Haven't tried it with RAW files, but I bet it is doable.

My system is VERY basic... a folder system based on "year-month-day - activity"

I have a 1TB temp storage area for the laptop and an 18TB (RAID 5+1) storage area on my network in the form of a fiber-optic connected SAN. Hydro Quebec loves me... lol

Not first-hand knowledge, but I've heard good things re an app called Photo Mechanic, particularly with ability to tag, sort, etc.
