Gabe... you are not the only one! We have several that I can think of (although I am not one!

I like you, Gabe.. you are off to a good start! ;)

Nope, you are not the only one.

Be ready a lot of people don't consider us as "photographers" or don't respect our opinions.

Just remember, we have the same capabilities as any other photographer!

Luke.. you have the same "potential" as any other photographer... but it will take time and experience to bring that out. I don't think we discount anyone based on age, I think we place more emphasis on ability and knowledge. Sometimes it is probably hard to deal with a mostly adult forum... I am sure you get frustrated at times.

You can go pro when you turn 18!!!

Could I see your photos?

I've been making 100% of my income through photography since sophomore year, and I make more than my friends with real jobs. I'm 17 :sexywink:

What type of work do you do?

Primarily high school and college sports photography, as well as real estate photography. I am just starting to venture into portrait photography.

I have to ask, How did you start out? Age? Why?

I started out doing event photography/video, as well as some video editing work. I got my first DSLR when I was 15 and have been shooting since then. Saying I started sophomore year was a bit of a stretch, as I started shooting towards the end of that year, so let's say junior year. I got a job as a photographer for a local company that shot high school sports, and have been with them for almost 2 years. I had loved taking pictures since a relatively young age, so I pursued it. And now I essentially get paid to watch sports :lmao:

Very well done. One last question; Did the company you work for pursue you?

No, as at that point in time I did not have a portfolio. However, they were (and still are) a growing company, and only had 10 photographers, so positions were available.
