Upgrade to Lightroom Classic CC?

I've been using LR 5. I'm seriously considering going to CC despite my earlier protests against it. I'm intrigued by the newer features and my version of Photoshop (CS4) is missing some useful features as well. I'm concerned about the latest update though. I realize many people have had no issues but others have. Should I wait? Adobe doesn't seem to be in a hurry to fix the bugs from what some users have been saying. Some have gone back to the previous version. If I upgrade won't it install the latest version with no option to roll back? I think I'd be really pissed if I installed and had to uninstall and then reinstall LR 5 just to be able to use it, plus I'd be paying while waiting for an update to work properly. I guess I'm just on the fence and afraid to just go for it. Any advice?
