Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have just joined this forum as the camera club I'm in don't seem to offer feed back on competition entries, other than picking winners. I'm not sure if I'll be lambasted for posting this picture in the wrong category but I would like some critic/feedback on it, I think I came about 4/5th in my grade, around 6/7 photos where entered by others in my grade I think, in the last club comp but as I said there is no feedback in the club so I don't know why people didn't like it. The theme of the competition was Seven.

I wanna see!

Edit: I'd wish to see detail on the birds themselves too. Maybe with two exposures?

completely oversaturated.

might have been interesting in b&W if there was any detail on the crows themselves and there was something interesting about them, but I would have rated this submission very low myself.

over processed... Do you see hallos?

Hey, welcome!

Compositionally, it is not much.

Technically, it is not well exposed but it is over-processed.

Those are some of the reasons why we had to chop you.

Where is the Seven theme? To me, the 5 pipes and 2 birds to make seven seems a little of a stretch. Essentually you have 7 random objects that make up the theme. I could take a picture of 7 random things maybe having two of them being the same thing... (i.e. two are rocks and then having a flower, a bee, lily pad, a leaf, and a ball in the picture and it would give me the same feeling. I was scratching my head with the match of the theme seven and this picture just as much as someone else would probably be scratching their head to my picture of seven things. I also agree with the others that this picture is way over proccessed. To me a much more mathmatical/geometric picture would be a much better represention of the theme.

BoblyBill, I understand where your coming from and I appreciate your review. The point that you made about the randomness of the picture wasn't an issue for me, when taking the photo, in fact I felt the opposite to some extent. I did find that the same "randomness" could be said for allot of other members entries but there was no discussion on the night.

Appreciated!
