Using LR3 and LR4 on 2 computers

I have LR3 installed on my desktop and my laptop. I keep all files and catalogs on a portable drive.

I just got a free upgrade from Adobe to LR4. However my desktop is running XP so I can't upgrade that platform. My Laptop has W7 so I am good to go on that one.


Will I be creating more problems for myself if I am using 2 versions to handle the same catalogs and files on my drive?
