Hey all – this announcement is to serve as a reminder to you all about a feature called the "Ignore List".

During your time on TPF, should you find yourself repeatedly coming across certain members whose posts annoy or offend you, please remember you don’t have to suffer through them. You have the power to place any member on TPF, with the exception of the TPF Staff, on your Ignore List. This means their posts will be invisible to you.

While the TPF Staff strive to maintain an open, friendly atmosphere, it is beyond our call to moderate every heated exchange or rude comment. Therefore, reporting the posts of members who engage in less than gracious behavior is not always the appropriate action. Except when a direct violation of established TPF guidelines occurs, we are not here to police our members or scrutinize every utterance.

So, what do you do when you come across "that member" who never fails to irritate you with his or her posts? Click on your User Control Panel and scroll down to "Miscellaneous". Select "Buddy/Ignore Lists". Under the "Ignore List" is a window where you can directly add the user name of the offending member, and then click "Save".

You’re done! You’ll never have to encounter that member again.

We encourage you to take advantage of this feature as often as you like. This is the "TPF Endorsed" way of dealing with online trolls – as opposed to running the risk of turning into one yourself by giving in to the temptation to craft the perfect reply, letting the offending party know what you think of their comments, their photography, their family, and their probable destiny. Resist the urge!

Thank you for your support.
