Hey guys, The USS Texas is a dreadnought. It was commissioned into service in 1914. It is the only Battleship to serve in both WWI and WWII. It shelled Guadalcanal supporting the Marines in WWII...

I edited the pictures with a Lightroom preset to make them look like old pictures without the grain you would expect from days gone by. A little pic heavy, but it is history. The young boy in one of the pictures is my nephew visiting holding some of the anti-aircraft 20 millimeter rounds. The guide told us the helmets were the inspiration for the helmets used in Starwars gunners on the Deathstar... Hope you like them. untitled-2760-2.jpg untitled-2761-2.jpg untitled-2768.jpg untitled-2772-2.jpg untitled-2776.jpg untitled-2784-2.jpg untitled-2790-2.jpg untitled-2794-2.jpg untitled-2842-2.jpg untitled-2845.jpg untitled-2857.jpg untitled-2883-2.jpg untitled-2903-2.jpg untitled-2913-2.jpg

Nice set; fascinating bit of history. I'd love to tour her some day.

Nice set. Until you actually see them up close it's hard to fathom how big they really are. We've been through the USS Alabama a couple times.

I've slept on both the USS Alabama as well as the Texas with our boy scout troops. Very interesting ships for sure.

    Great pictures as well!
