Vello Shutterboss unresponsive/dead

Hi,
I have a Vello Shutterboss that I bought just about a year ago, and all of the sudden the receiver component is dead. The batter reads 3.2V and I'm sure it's inserted correctly, but it doesn't turn on. No display. The remote component functions normally. I always take the battery out because it doesn't do a good job of staying off in the camera bag.

It worked when I put it in there after using it just last week. It just doesn't make sense that it would die after I stopped using it the last time.

Anyone have similar experience, or know any tips to try and revive it?

Do you happen to know what the warranty is? I'll check with Vello, but I was anxious and thought someone might have some good news on how to handle this...
