Versus!?

Hi, another comparison one...

Each of these has qualities that I like, but I really one one want shot like this. Composition-wise, which do you prefer, and why? And why not the other?

The top one - not so much for the position of her head but rather the look on her face. I'm not crazy about either facial expression, really, but the top one is a bit less problematic than the second one.

Neither. The composition and expression are dealbreakers.

I'm not an expert at portraiture but what ^^^ they said about the facial expressions.
I've also noticed your latest shots all have bright red lipstick which to me hasn't worked either. Something a tad darker I would think ... but take that with a grain of salt.

Anyone care to elaborate what is wrong with the expressions?

In my opinion she looks bored or at least indifferent or disinterested.

When I split the face in thirds I get different vibes. I'm okay when I see just below her eyes and above. However, when I go from her nose and above I start seeing or feeling something different. Once I include the mouth and above, I get that she is not into the shoot at all.

I agree with what was said above. Also composition ally it is way too tight on the right.

Anyone care to elaborate what is wrong with the expressions?

In the first one, that sideways look says "What is this creep doing taking my picture?" and in the second one, she is thinking, "Really? REALLY? I'm so calling the cops on you."

She kinda has resting bitchy face.
