Viewpoint of where I live + an HDR comparison with a compact camera

I walked up "Torakslå", a viewpoint right next to our neighbourhood, to take some overview shots of the place I live. I've always wanted to do that, but never gotten myself to do it. So, I went up, and brought with me my parents digital compact camera. I can adjust the exposure from -2 to +2 through exposure compensation, so I thought I'd try some HDR with it. Only did two scenes, though. I've about the same processing on those from my 40D and those from the compact camera. Didn't add a frame to those, though (not sure how I feel about those, haha). You'll notice much more noise! But they are much better than just one exposure of the same scene, see pics.

You can see for yourself at bigger sizes at flickr. Here follows the pics. Feel free to write your opinions on them, but I may be posting too many. I post both colour and black'n white of all shots. I realise some are high on saturation, but I liked the look. I wanted an idyllic sort of look of this place.
Taken at 11mm, 16mm and 50mm.

And just for the record, I live in the whitish house behind the big orange one
