What's new

Viva Las Vegas

Thanks. This was originally snapped as a 3 shot HDR, so i'll mask in the correct exposure for the sign later. it bothered me a bit too.

I like this direction, literally and artistically. Shot from this angle, The Strip appears small and far less sensational than usual. The retail rooftops add some grit and a "behind the curtain" element that continues the candid theme. It's almost like a photo of a showgirl standing off stage on her smoking break.

Oh lord... I'm in love with this shot!!! My only detraction would be the blown highlight in the middle. Fantastic!!!

I thought it looked a bit HDRish, and I'm wondering why it's overexposed, or did you just try to give it that HDR look?

it could be because there is a huge massive bright white light sign in the middle of his shot. Kinda hard to expose for 1 single thing taking up about 1/54th of the image. I'm sure he'll fix it later in post if it becomes bothersome to him.

Nobody (at least speaking for myself) is saying to expose for the billboard taking "1/54th" of the image. It should be fixed in post, unless you would like to pull the "artistic" card or something like that.

the other dude did, said he was wondering why it was over exposed. The image is not overexposed, just has one tiny blown out spot from a huge bright light, that we all know he can fix in post.

Just to be clear, this was single exposure. Although I shot a bracket, I only used one exposure. My language was ambiguous above.

I didn't read through the thread. I thought he had already post processed, which explains my pointing out the over exposure. The image is beautifully exposed. And now he fixed it:) lovely!
