G'day all

Across much of the central to southern Queensland area one sees the remnants of volcanic action from 5000? to 50,000? yrs ago

I'd say, add about 25 million years to that, because it's very unlikely these kinds of formations were formed only 5000 to 50000 years ago, it all dates back to well before the emergence of Homo sapiens. In the Netherlands we've no mountains, no volcanic rock formations or anything like that, it's as flat as can be and also below sea level, so seeing these kinds of formations not only in photos, but also in real life (when we are on holiday) is and remains something miraculous.

On an Aussie foto forum, another response puts them at 32-29 million yrs ago .... and 'yes' we are blessed with many "real-old" hills here Downunder
