#1: My favourite. The center of the flower draws my attention; it is nicely focused and framed by the bluish petals. Nice bokeh on the blue petals, also. The color seems well balanced, but there appears to be some overexposure to address. I'd process it very lightly: crop, adjust exposure, clone out artifact in the shadow. Something like this..



#2: The color seems too saturated and off balance. My eye wanders.

#3: Over-saturated color? Weak focus on the blue flower (orchid?). I'd decrease the DOF, spot flash the orchid perhaps, and lower the exposure in the background.

#4: Very nice and my second choice. I like the dark background. Could be sharper. Maybe shoot it from a different angle or increase the DOF a bit? Strange yet beautiful flower.

#5: I assume the large mauve flower in the foreground is the intended subject, but my eye wanders to the other things in-focus - stems, buds, etc. I'd decrease DOF and find a better angle.

Again, #4 is great alternative first choice.

I actually love number 5. I find the way my eye moves around the photo very exciting. I love the way the curves of the in-focus buds mock the curves of the out-of-focus buds. I think it's just gorgeous. I want to keep going back to look at it, and while the others might be good photos as well, I don't feel the urge to keep returning to them.
