I like the shot, but I wish that the person sitting on the bench was leaning forward so that the face or the hoodie or whatever was more in view.

The DOF is nice as far as you captured the correct dof for where the person was seated. Other than that, I don't find it very interesting or appealing

I think this is very nicely seen and makes a lovely shot.
There are a couple of minor things: first, there is a small lean to the left and second the far end of the arcade is very bright and draws the eye.

After correcting both of those, then sharpening only the foreground, then converting to BW->

(OK ideally perhaps more of the person would be better, but this is the picture you could take.)

I like it, I wish the purple bag wasn't there.. nothing you could have done about that. I don't think you always have to see a persons face for a picture to be interesting.
