Waiting On A Photographer

I spotted this red-shouldered hawk on a nature trail just waiting for me to come along. I was amazed that I got within 40 feet of him before I spotted him (branches blocking the view) and stopped and he didn't flinch. I crept up on him as close as about 20 feet and he just sat there and let me snap away for about a minute and then he finally bolted.

What a thrill to get the opportunity to get so close and take such good shots. I wish our raptors were so obliging.
