Walk around an old marina

Something a little different today

Did a walk with the pup this morning in -5C temps with the hand held Nikon P510. These boats are discarded behind a marina and have been there for many years. Likely abandoned by the owners or unable to pay their bills back in the day. The Marina has been closed for years except for doing mechanical engine repairs. He is the only boat engine mechanic left in the area and they come to him from miles away often from other marina repair shops that do not have his expertise. Its a dying art.

The marina used to rent houseboats but have not done so for over 20 years. This is the last of the house boat docks that has not been destroyed by the winters ice. It has seen better days.

Even the main marina docks are on various angles now. He does not pump gas anymore. Likely due to all the new environmental laws, not worth the upgrade cost to tanks and lines I guess.
