I think you're getting a good reaction here because your very first priority when taking this shot was the composition. What works here is you have a strong foreground element that pops from the photo, you've got an excellent background, and the crop is perfect. What is more important than the composition in a photograph? Nothing. Now, this composition isn't perfect. As others have mentioned, the ear is clipping the castle. But it's very close to ideal for this spot.
Vip, You've become very good at processing photographs. You can achieve what you want to in post production, which is great.
I think what's limiting you right now with most of your shots is the lack of attention to detail in your composing. As a general observation, and strictly my opinion, if you had better photos from a composition standpoint, your processing would really shine. Right now, for a lot of your shots, it's basically painting nice lipstick on a pig. If you could start really looking for compositions and paying more attention to the small details and nuances that separate a bland and boring composition from a great one, you'd have much better material to work your PP techniques on. I understand you travel a lot with your family and do a lot of handheld HDR brackets in a hurry. But, when you do see a shot, if you are mindful and put composition first, before anything else, I think you'd be much more pleased with your final results.
Again, just my opinion, aimed as compliments and constructive criticism.
