Waning New England Color

I pulled off and turned around to drive back to this driveway when I saw the light filtering earlier this week, and then I nearly scrapped these photos that night. I came back to them tonight, but I'm still unsure about how to PP them. I can't get them to look like the scene I saw the other morning.

They are so beautiful. I especially love the sun flair although maybe clone out the green flair in the bottom right corner. I am terribly inexperienced at landscape photography but I honestly love these.

It's always funny to me...these photos have been getting a lot of admiration on social media even though I'm not happy with them.

IMO, what might make these even more impacting is to raise the black point a bit, increase saturation of yellows a tiny bit and sharpening with a large radius to give it some pop.

This second one has that large green flare that attracts attention

These are Eliot Porter - like photos.
He was my idol when I first started.
I had a book of his photos shot with a 4x5 and that kind of beauty seemed unattainable by mere mortals.
