I walked down the railroad tracks today with my fairly new Nikon 200-400mm f/4, aiming to get some shots of the local ospreys. But, I couldn't manage any good shots of them so I decided to sit down on the tracks and take some shots at bees and wasps buzzing around on the flowers. Despite the fact that the 200-400mm isn't really aimed for macro work, it works rather well for such a purpose, I find. A bit unwieldy for close-up work, sure, but sharp all the same.

Comments, critiques, and jokes are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

Bee 3 is excellent!

yeah! wow! cool mid-flight shots!

Thanks for the comments. Do you feel as if some of the greens are a bit too much, or does their vibrancy work for my shots, rather than against?

i think the greens are fine. But in Bee #1 it may be a little bit to bright.

Great shots all round' though!!

I agree. #1 is the only one where it is a bit too much.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm gonna tone down the green in Bee One, I think. I ended up toning it down a smidgen in Bee Three also, though.

Thanks again.
