Watching a nest from 1/4 mile away

[zombiesniper148 13]

We have a couple of Great Horned owl nests near us. Only one has a decent line of sight however the tree is on the other side of a farmers field.
We know we'll never get good images of the owls but we watch and keep track of the progress.

The first image is uncropped with the 500mm.

The second image is a 300% crop. You can see mom on the nest and she has at least one chick under her. We hope to be able to watch them as they grow.
