I shot this earlier today and I think it came out pretty nice. It's the first shot i've done with motion blur since I just got my tripod (Manfrotto 055xb) and I was wondering if I could get any tips on how to improve this type of shot.
Shot settings: Manual Mode, 29mm, f29, 1/2 second, iso 100 (with polarizing filter and 2 stop nd grad filter)

If you are into waterfalls and long exposures like me, try investing in a 6-stops ND so you can shoot longer than half a second

It would have been longer if I used a smaller aperture and brought a timer.

Anyway, great shot there. Have fun with your new Manfrotto. One of the best tripods in the market today.

Those are nice shots man! Yea thats what I need to get. Which one do you use? I also shot that at like 5pm so the sun was still pretty harsh and I was pointed right at it. Maybe if I go back more towards sunset i'll be able to get a longer exposure

How are the prices on those? do they get more expensive as you go up in stops?

@OP; i would have loved to see more of the scenery, the angle and crop seem to weird, the composition defiantly deserves more horizon.

Price depends on quality & size. The rating doesn't affect the price much until you get into really really really dark ones.

I use B+W 6-stop ND on those shots. A bit expensive, about USD 103.00 but its the best one i have used. Get the biggest size, 77mm or 82mm, and get some adapter rings that will fit your lenses. Yup you can have longer exposures if you shoot early morning or late afternoon.

I really need some filters especially the ND and a CPL, but ive been trying to save up for more studio equipment, unfortunately here in Canada prices are double what they are elsewhere.

Thanks

Is this a better angle?

I like the first angle better. Looks fine to me.

And I think you chose the perfect fstop, I dont like when people over do it with the water effects.

Thanks man, yea I liked the first one better too. The way the area was, it made it hard to get a good composition with a wider shot. I think i'm gonna try and see if B&H will let me exchange my nd grad filter for a straight nd filter. The nd grad one didn't really do to much so yea. Oh and Davor, If I were you i'd get a cpl. I just got the B+W slim one last week and I love it. It was only $58 on the b&h site.
