We were sitting on the balcony - -

- with our sons family when a groundhog walked into the garden & started munching on lettuce & beet-tops. We hollered & made thumping noises to scare it off but all it did was to move to the carrots.

We then sicced the grandsons on it which they did with relish.

It curled up in a ball between the rows of carrots thinking it would not be seen but when the boys actually entered the garden it took off like a bat out of hell.

A BB gun might be a good idea as the garden is a 100' from the house & a shot would only sting it. Not going to buy one though.

I suppose so, his location says 'in the country' so I made an assumption that it wouldn't be a problem. In the country 'round these parts gunshots are hardly unusual and the last people that they tend to draw are cops.

Wanted to add that despite the fact that gunfire is commonplace we have virtually no incidents of gun related violence or accidental injury in our area.

they are trying to pass a bylaw here allowing cops to charge farmers target shooting in their properties in mid day with excessive noise ticket.

We have a law about excessive noise here but it's only on Sunday and not usually enforced unless it's extreme.
