WEC - 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

I spent the weekend in Belgium for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. It was really great, but something was weird: I could count on one hand the number of women photographing the event. No need to tell you I was feeling a little out of place.

This was my first time trying the panning technique at a race.

Bonus shot, I just thought he was too cute. :thumbup:

Ohhh, I like the one of the Porshe. And the shot of the small boy up on the hillside, watching with his ear protection on--NICE! You got great panning speeds and smooth pans: tires blurry, but the car paint and sponsor patches sharp!

+1. I too like the 'bonus shot'.

I would LOVE to drive the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in a formula car.
I've driven the circuit many, many times - LOL in a virtual F1 car (electronic racing game).

Some nice shots. Definitely a circuit for my bucket list. I like the elevation in these shots -- that's one of the iconic elements of Spa, obviously, though not quite as obvious as Eau Rouge.

If you have the opportunity to go, don't miss it. The Raidillon is terrific. Just walking up to the top is exhausting! We just can't picture how steep it is until we see it for real. And it's fantastic because it's the first thing you see when you arrive on the circuit. It's truly gut-wrenching.

Jealous! I went to Spa for F1 when Senna, Prost and Mansell were going wheel to wheel back in the day.
Very atmospheric place/track.
Great panning, and another +1 on the little boy, reminds me of what I must of looked like.

Audi fan here and we don't get coverage in NZ or the European racing, bummer !!. These are excellent shots and extremely well taken. Must say the shot with the boy and muffs on is outstanding, love the way you thought and took that shot.

I think that picture with the boy is my favorite from that day. Also, it makes me realize that I really need to take more picture like this one. But I'm not very comfortable with taking photos of people...

Out of curiosity....... Assuming your signature is up to date, this is with your 70-300? How heavily edited are the photos?

All these pictures were taken with my 70-300. I added a little bit of clarity and vibrance to every picture and a vignetting effect to the pictures of the boy and the one with three cars. That's all.
